I know I shouldn't complain about the fact that this is university vacation time. But I am so, so, so very bored. I am finding myself wishing that I had some work to do. Ironic I know. If we were to go back a few months when I was slaving away over essays, I was constantly wishing today would be the day I'd get them done. Other universities have released 3rd year reading lists. But my university? Oh no. I can't even get into the module sections on our online web portal. I would email, but given last year's response I don't think I'll bother. All I received was "You're very keen, but you'll get to know what to read when the module starts." Thanks very much... Then they swamp us with reading which we're hard pushed to juggle amongst everything else. I think I'd rather have it now so I could begin to prepare. I wish the law department at my university wasn't so damn unorganized. With an increased number of modules to be taken this year, I would have thought that releasing a reading list was the LEAST they could do. Apparently not. And then they have the gall to have a go at us when we haven't had time to do 5498730547938542 pages of reading in time for a seminar. God give me strength!!
*Deep breath... in... and out... in and out...*

Review: Moisturizer
Ok, any girl knows that for good looking skin, she needs to moisturize. I've tried loads in the attempt to find one that I really like and that suits my skin. I've used practically every brand that can be found on the high street. And I've not been overly impressed by any. Until now. And girls, this is not on the high street. It's in a supermarket. A budget supermarket at that. Yes you heard right, Lidl to be exact.
Ok so a few weeks ago, I was in need of moisturizer as I'd finally used mine up. I went delving into the bathroom storage units and found my Mum's moisturizer. I thought it'd do until I could afford to stock up on some more. The brand in question was Cien Bodycare's Skin Care Cream. My hopes weren't high. But I was proved wrong. This stuff is AMAZING. The Germans obviously know how to make moisturizer. Which is more than I can say for Garnier or Nivea. I promptly nipped across the road and bought a pot.
Ok so what did I like about this product? Oh where to start! A little goes a long way which means I won't have to stock up on it frequently. Then again at a mere £1.93 for 250ml(!!!) I wouldn't be all that bothered (compared to £2.98 for 250ml of Garnier Hydralock). It has a nice scent and consistency and a non-sticky, non-greasy formula which is fabulous. Garnier take note! It goes into the skin really well and has left my face feeling soft and smooth with a lovely dewy glow. But it doesn't stop there. I use this product not only on my face, but on my hands, legs and feet. What I love about this moisturizer is that its good for sensitive skin. Hence why I use it on my legs. When I used Nivea or Garnier Hydralock after shaving - ouch! It stung, but this Cien Skin Care Cream doesn't hurt at all. And it locks moisture in just as well if not better than Garnier's Hydralock.
I really don't think I can say any more except - go and get yourself a pot!!
So good I even had to put my name on it!

A new find!
Hi everyone,
In the last couple of days I've stumbled across a fabulous new duo known as Samantha and Nicola Chapman. They're two sisters, both of whom are makeup artists and have their own YouTube channel where they are known as pixiwoo. They also have their own website. So, what makes these two different from the rest? Well, they just seem to have that extra something about them. Why don't you pop along and see for yourselves? Hurrah for 120 Pro Palette!
For anyone that's been following my blog, you'll know that a little over a month ago, I pretty much slated the 120 Pro Palette. But now I am back with better news. And it's all thanks to Marlena from Makeup Geek. I've been following her on YouTube and I have to say she's now my ultimate favourite YouTube makeup guru. And a couple of weeks ago, she did a 'Purple Smokey Eyes' tutorial using the 120 Pro Palette. I loved the look, and Marlena made it look so effortless. So this morning I tried it out, and I have to say I was pretty impressed with the results I came up with. I think it worked this time as I've recently bought, and fell in love with, a new eye base from Gosh Cosmetics - and boy does it work! And using Marlena's technique of patting the colour onto my lid rather than sweeping it across, fall out is practically non-existent! Marvellous!

Here are the colours I used:
Red Circle: Highlight
Orange Circle: Pink for the crease colour
Yellow Circle: Used this on top of my base in place of Marlena's NYX jumbo pencil
Green Circle: Main lid colour
Blue Circle: Darker lid colour for outer edge of the eye
Purple Circle: Black powder to darken the outer edge and line the lashes

My Recent Antics
Hi all!
Feels like a while since I blogged, I've had a busy past few days! Oh where to start?
Ok, so Sunday (9th August) I, and a few friends, went to Skegness, aka SkegVegas, to see the last night of Jimmy Carr's 2008/09 tour 'Joke Technician'. While I usually love JC, I admit to being a tad disappointed at the show. Maybe having a headache sort of dampened it a bit. We'd all got so excited about it, and with being the last night of the tour we thought it'd be good. Upon arriving at the Embassy Centre we were really disappointed that they'd sold out of programmes :[ And the venue wasn't quite what I'd thought it'd be, but on the plus side, we were quite near the stage. First half of the gig was pretty good and I laughed pretty much all the way through. Second half however, my headache had turned into a really bad migraine and I didn't feel at all well, plus I was faced with the prospect of driving all the way home, plus dropping various people off en route. I didn't feel well enough to stay and meet Jimmy. Although in all fairness I had met him after one of his previous shows on his last tour but still was gutted. I did see the ledge however before leaving the building. All in all, I didn't feel it was necessarily one of his best performances. However that certainly won't stop me from buying tickets for the date he's in town near my uni!
Monday consisted of dragging myself out of bed, packing and tootling off cross country to my university. I think you can guess why. Oops. Yesterday I came back and was somewhat exhausted.
Today however was significantly cheered up by the arrival of the kirby grip bows that I bought on eBay last week! They are awesome and I love them!! Look:
Think you can say I'm a little bit obsessed with polka dots! XD
And tonight, on a whim I decided, what the heck, and took the plunge to buy an item I'd been watching for a while. At £3.49 I think you can safely say twas a bargain!
Deary me, me and eBay = bad mix lol! On the eBay note, I don't suppose any of you happen to know if China Glaze nail polish is stocked in the UK? And if so where? Comment if you know please :]

Review: Nails Inc Nail Polish in 'Tate'
So I might be a newbie to Nails Inc, but I am a convert. I love their products. I'm slowly building up my collection piece by piece. Every colour I've tried so far I've loved. Here comes the but. I've just tried out 'Tate'. I got it on sale a couple of months back on the Nails Inc site. Finally I decided to use it. It's a lovely colour. I cannot stress that enough. I've only used red a few times in the past but this is quite different. It's not a loud, obvious, out there sort of a red. It's dark, and understated in a way. I like it. The only thing I found was when it came to applying it, one coat wasn't enough. You needed two and even then sometimes the colour wasn't quite so even. Now it's dry it looks better. Maybe I should have used a base coat with it. I'll try that next time because I'm not prepared to give up on this wonderful polish just yet.
I think this deserves a 3 stars out of 5 rating. I'll update when I use a basecoat with it and see if it makes a difference. Fingers crossed.

Every cloud...
Oh dear. Attempting to gain entry onto the legal career ladder seems ever increasingly depressing. Lawminx's blog post really shows how unfair and impossible it seems.
But shall we concede and give up? No we bloomin' well shall not. We'll take our academics (despite being "in attendance at Thick As a Brick College, University of the STICKS". I hear you on that one!), our accents, backgrounds and life experience and show the recruiters what we're made of. After all, that age old proverb "if at first you don't succeed, try, try again" must apply. Yes? *Sigh* We'll see.
