Inspire me

Hello kittens :)

I'm a bit stuck for nail art ideas. I know, it's a sad state of affairs. I've googled, I've scoured We Heart It, I've been through the nail blogs that I follow. I've not really found anything that's inspiring me to create a new design or jumping out at me to recreate or put my own personal twist on.

Review: MUA Lipstick in Shade 7

Hi de hi lovelies :)

I know lots of bloggers have posted about MUA, but I haven't seen many reviews. So here goes! I picked up this lipstick about a week or so ago, and have used it pretty much every day since. I love it. To see why, read on :)

What MUA say: Make a statement with our show stopping shades. Make Up Academy provides trend shades on budget, allowing you to achieve the latest looks without breaking the bank.

What I say: Well, they're not wrong with the show-stopping bit! Shade 7 is seriously bright. I love it - a perfect coral tone for summer :D I love the packaging too - you can see the shade before opening!

What MUA say: Erm, well, nothing. But everyone knows how to apply lippie right?

What I say: This has to be the best lipstick I've ever tried. It's highly pigmented, non-drying and stays put after eating and drinking. Even my MAC lippie can't claim that.

So last night I decided to attempt to recreate it

Nails Inc In Style Beach (little fingers)

Barry M Bright Yellow #134 (ring fingers)

No 7 Berrylicious (middle fingers)

Barry M Turquoise #295 (index fingers)

GOSH Wild Lilac #571 (thumbs)

George @ Asda Natural White (speech bubbles and polka dots)

Nails Inc London Nights (speech bubble outline & words/symbols)

Nail brush (from a set of 12 Fraulein 38 brushes I bought from eBay)

Dotting tool (from a set of 5 I bought from eBay)

It wasn't easy, and it took ages and drove me crazy but I got there in the end! It was insanely hard to do my right hand haha. Needless to say it didn't look as good as my left but not bad. I need to invest in a black nail art pen so that I can do this kind of stuff more easily. Oh and beg someone to do my right hand haha!

Review: GOSH Intense Lashes Lengthening Mascara

Finally I've found another great mascara that I absolutely love and would not be without. I was planning to pick up a Max Factor mascara but having discovered that Max Factor test on animals, I refuse to buy from them. So I decided to try something new from my favourite brand, GOSH. I picked this up a few weeks ago and have been using it religiously ever since. Quite a few people have commented on how great my lashes look with this mascara on so I thought I'd review it for you. What I say: I couldn't agree more!! This is a highly pigmented mascara and the formula ensures that I have lengthened, volumised, luscious black lashes.

Application

What GOSH say: The revolutionary new, red nylon brush provides fabulous and easy application. Reaching to the root of your lashes, it ensures even the smallest lash is covered with mascara. Your lashes gain increased fullness at the base and added length at the tips, resulting in a perfect combination of extraordinary volume and long, well-defined lashes. This mascara is also rich in B5 pro vitamin and features a softening, natural wax that gives your lashes added vitality, strength and suppleness. No perfume and parabens.

What I say: First off, I'll start with the packaging. The wand of the mascara has a curved end which is ergonomic and just right for your index finger to sit in whilst you apply it. However, the end of my wand fell off haha - see the pic below. That's the only niggle with this product. The wand is great, it's not too long or too wide. The brush is nylon rather than these new fangled plastic things. I can reach each and every lash for a great coverage. My lashes look longer, thicker and incredibly black. I love it, and cannot recommend it enough!!
