You may have noticed in all of my recent FOTDs and my favourite products post that this has blush has been listed a lot. I know I'm quite possibly the last person ever to use this, but I've only recently, within the last three or four months, got into the habit of using blusher. I saw a pot of Maybelline Dream Mousse Blush in Dolly Pink on Charlotte's blog sale for about £2 ages ago and decided to try it so I snapped it up. I'd been using a peach powder blusher for ages and was a bit scared about trying a pink shade as I thought it'd look a bit bright and feared that I would quite possibly end up looking like a Barbie. How wrong I was! The unique formula of this blush enables you to add as little or as much as you'd like and it's incredibly blendable if you do end up putting too much on. Anyway, before I give it all away, on to the review!

About the product
Maybelline say: Dream Mousse Blush is air-whipped to blend so smoothly and feels virtually weightless, gliding on quickly and easily. The dreamy formula creates a unique, air-soft texture.
I say: Maybelline's product description could not be any more accurate!!! The formula is fabulous and light, and I've found that I don't need much to complete my look. I've used this practically every day since I received it back in about November and there's still about two thirds of a jar left. I can see this lasting me a good while longer yet, which makes this excellent value for money!
Application
Maybelline say: For perfect application, smile softly to determine the balls of your cheeks, apply the colour to this area, and blend softly upwards and outwards along the cheekbone using the tips of your fingers
I say: I've never used my fingers to apply this, I prefer to use my angled blusher brush. I suppose it's a little odd to use a brush with this formula but it's the only way I trust myself to give an even application. It's an incredibly blendable formula, so there's no need to worry if you put too much on, you can just blend it out, which I often tend to do with my fingers. I love the colour of Dolly Pink, it's the perfect shade for winter as it really puts some natural colour on your cheeks. Perfect!

I got a Rimmel mousse blush at CVS just because it was 75% off. I don't know how I ever lived without it! I am awful at applying blush, and using a mousse makes it look really natural and blended :D I'll have to try Maybelline too!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know that Rimmel did mousse blushes! Shows you how little attention I pay to their stand lol. I'll have to try one next time I'm in town :) x
