Hi hi :)

Here are my favourite products for the month of May!
e.l.f. Studio Cream Eyeliner - I cannot recommend this enough!! Great formula, fab application, amazing colour pay off and fantastic staying power!

MUA Pearl Eye Shadow in Shade 2 - Love this - it's great as a highlight on the eye, or an all over colour if you want to look awake and refreshed. I've also found that you can use it as a highlight on the cheeks if you blend it out well - good little tip there :)

MUA Lipstick in Shade 7 - I've worn this almost every day I've worn make up this month - it's a lush summery colour with the most fab staying power!! A total gem :)

GOSH Intense Lashes Lengthening Mascara - Love, love, love this mascara! Does exactly what it says and makes my lashes look amazing!!

Avon Cuticle Balm - A really moisturizing treatment for my nails, and a total steal at £3 when I bought it (Usually £6)

Monsters Inc Nails

Hi hi dears

I was rifling through my nail polish collection the other day and out came Barry M's Turquoise, and GOSH's Wild Lilac. I thought they'd look pretty darn ace together so I decided to do leopard print. I have to say before I applied GOSH Rainbow, they reminded me of Sulley from Monsters Inc!

See:
I forgot to take a pic before I topcoated with Rainbow so you just get the one nail I had to re do!

With Rainbow topcoat

The flash didn't pick up the Rainbow, which was good as I think there's too much of it on in reality. I might try this with Collection 2000 Sparkle top coat next time :)

GOSH Wild Lilac
Nails Inc London Nights

Have you got any exciting colour combinations for more leopard print nail art?

A question for you

Hi de hi :)

Ok, I'm bored of my current foundation - L'Oreal Matte Morphose. I know I was proclaiming my love for it a couple of months ago, but I'm fickle like that. I want to try something new, and as it's summer I'd like something a bit lighter. I know most people would go for a mineral foundation in summer but my skin is being ridiculously annoying at the moment, so I'm looking for a liquid one first. But I have no clue where to start!

I'm looking for a hight street product, something roughly around the £10 mark, but preferably under, that has good coverage but isn't too heavy, and that has a good staying power. I really wanted to try Revlon Colourstay - what say ye?

I have to say I don't like Rimmel foundations, or L'Oreal liquid foundations as I find both make me look orange. And I go for ivory in most foundations. Yeah, yuck.

So my questions to you lovely ladies are:

Which liquid foundation would you recommend for summer?
Which mineral foundation would you recommend for summer?
Which foundation is your overall favourite, regardless of the time of year?

Any help would be muchos appreciated :)

Cosmetics Storage

Hi hi :)

Now I've got some decent storage for all of my stuff, I thought I'd show you how I store my make up, nail polish and skin care products. I can't believe I managed to get most of this into 1 drawer before haha!

Top drawer
This is where I store most of my make up - we've got everything: primers, foundation, concealer, eye shadow bases, eye shadows, pigments, blushers, bronzers, eye liners, mascaras, lipsticks, lipglosses, the trusty vaseline etc etc

Middle Drawer
This is where I store the bulky stuff, so we've got palettes, make up wipes, powders and highlighters. Haha the denture tablets (for removing nail polish stains) which wouldn't fit in the bottom drawer

Bottom Drawer
This is where I store everything nail related - so we've got polish, buffers, brushes, nail art bits and bobs and my dotting tools

Skincare and miscellaneous bits and bobs
This is my top desk drawer which has got most of my skin care stuff with the odd make up and nail related item in there too!

Phew, that's it! How do you store your cosmetics?

Review: MUA Pearl Eye Shadow in Shade 2

Hello sugar plums :)

I know, I'm like the gazillionth blogger to have reviewed MUA shadows but I haven't seen this one reviewed so I'm getting in there first muahahaha ;P

Product

What MUA say: Soft powders with high pigment and shimmer, that easily blend, allow you to create a look from natural to all out glamour.

What I say: I quite like this, over an eye shadow base it is quite pigmented, which for the price, I wasn't really expecting. They are easily blendable and can be used for whatever look you like.

Application

What MUA say: Nothing. Again.

What I say: Like I said above, I applied this over an eye shadow base. I was surprised at the pigmentation, for the price I wasn't expecting it to be so good. Superdrug, you've surprised me! This is a great shade as it has a subtle shimmer and really brightens up the eye.

Price: £1
Size: 2g
Available at: Superdrug and superdrug.com

Ratings
Product: 9/10
Price: 10/10

A little spot of shopping

Hi hi dears :)

I popped into town on Friday afternoon as the arrival of summer prompted the purchase of some new sandals :D Yay! I'd had my eye on some since seeing Jo's post a few days ago.

Luckily I tracked down said beautiful sandals in Evans - I nabbed the last pair wahey :D These beauties are £25 which I thought was pretty good. I had a birthday voucher to spend and I figured this was a good a thing as any to spend it on, so these cost me £4. Bargain :D

They're a great fit and so comfy :D

I also popped into Superdrug because I wanted to pick up some more MUA lippies. I picked up another Shade 7 so I have a back up, and then I got Shade 6:

Beauty bargains

Boots have a huge 3 for 2 mix and match offer across their make up and professional hair care brands until June 15th! There's also 1/3 off selected products in the Soap & Glory range - go and stock up :D

Superdrug have a 2 for £5 offer on Barry M nail polishes, 3 for 2 on selected GOSH products, 3 for 2 mix and match across their skin care ranges, 2 Maybelline products for £11, 3 for 2 on Revlon products, and 3 for 2 on the 2True range

I wandered into TJ Hughes on Friday and found a whole heap of high street make up brands at incredibly low prices - including Rimmel, Revlon and Sally Hansen. I also saw a huge stand of Stila products with prices from as little as £2.99. They also stock the much loved St. Moritz tanning mousses and sprays for £2.99! I also saw a gigantic stand of 20 litre bottles of Tigi shampoo and conditioners - no, I'm not joking!

Musical marvels

Thanks to Scott Mills, I've recently found, and fell in love with it has to be said, The Baseballs. Who are they you ask? The Baseballs are a German band that are putting a 50's twist on modern songs. They are seriously amazing!!!! Quite a few of us on Twitter are loving them. If you want to find out what all the fuss is about, you can check their album out on Spotify here.

However I urge you to watch this video of their amazing cover of Snow Patrol's Chasing Cars!!

Review: L'Oreal Elvive Smooth Silk Light Conditioning Smooth Spray

Hello cupcakes :)

Phew, what a mouthful that title was! I was in Morrisons the other day with a friend picking up some last minute things for her weekend away. She told me about this product and said it was great. One look at the price tag put me off though. Later on we were in Superdrug and I found this on a BOGOF offer. Win! So of course I picked two up. To see what I thought of this product, keep reading :)

Product

What L'Oreal say: Does your hair need a quick, convenient smoothing touch to calm flyaways and frizz, that instantly detangles hair, and is so lightweight you can use it every day without weighing hair down? The L'Oreal laboratories have developed new Elvive Smooth-Silk Light Conditioning Smooth Spray. A smoothing leave-in conditioner in a spray that's light and quick to use. The new Smooth-Silk Light formula, enriched with Silk Protein weightlessly smoothes your hair leaving it manageable. It protects from the effects of damp or humid weather, such as flyaways or frizz. Delivered in an ultra-fine spray, the formula effectively conditions the hair without weighing it down. Your hair is instantly detangled and manageable. It's protected thanks to its 48 hour anti-flyaway and anti-frizz action. Combing is easy! Your hair feels silky, full and flowing.

What I say: Wow what a mouthful. Lately, and for who knows what reason, my hair has been ridiculously static and fly away so when Lucy suggested this to me, I had to try it. My hair was driving me crazy. As soon as I got it home I cracked it out and used it. I love it. It smells gorgeous (like apples actually), and it tamed my hair perfectly. No more flyaways or frizz for me! I don't buy Elvive products as a rule because they always weigh my hair down. But not this one. It really is light, and using this every day is good for my hair. I bet it's thanking me. I've used it on freshly washed wet hair and it detangles instantly. Brilliant. I wouldn't say it's effects last 48 hours but it certainly does last all day. Perfect!

Application

What L'Oreal say: So light, can be used as a conditioning boost on damp hair after washing with shampoo and conditioner, or instead of regular conditioner depending on hair condition; or on dry hair with a light spray to tame hair between washes or on the go! No need to rinse. Can be used every day for daily silkiness.

What I say: I think I pretty much said what I thought of this above haha. It's easy to use, just remove the lid and spray. I give a good liberal spray on wet or dry hair. My hair looks smooth, sleek and shiny with no flyaways or frizz. Yay :D

Price: £3.29 (Currently BOGOF in Superdrug)
Size: 200ml
Available at: Superdrug, Morrisons etc

Ratings
Product: 10/10
Price: 8/10
Packaging: 10/10
Overall: 9/10
Repurchase: If I ever run out, yes

Have you tried this? Or found any other miracle cures for taming fly away/static hair?

Review: GOSH Velvet Touch Eye Liners

Hello petals :)

I mentioned a while back that I picked up a couple of these eye liners. I bought Black Ink and Golden Globe. To see what I thought of them, keep reading :)

Product

What GOSH say: Has a fantastic colour pigmentation and is 100% waterproof.

What I say: On first application I have found these to be highly pigmented. I've used Black Ink to line my upper lash line and it's brilliant. Great colour and stays put all day. However using it on the water line is a bit of a no-no. It doesn't stay put very long at all which is a shame. Contrast that with Golden Globe, which stays put all day on the water line. Odd huh? Maybe different colours have different staying power?

Application

What GOSH say: Extremely waterproof and durable. Fantastic colour pigmentation. Contains Vitamin E and Jojoba Oil. Contains no perfume.

What I say: As you can see from the swatches, the colours are great. Golden Globe looks far more vibrant than it is in reality though which is a shame. Golden Globe is definitely waterproof, whereas I wouldn't say Black Ink is as much. Although it does have great staying power on the upper lash line.

Price: £5
Size: 1.2g
Available from: Superdrug

Ratings
Product: 8/10
Price: 8/10
Packaging: 10/10
Overall: 8/10
Repurchase: I might not get these particular shades, but I will be picking up some others

Have you tried these eye liners? What did you think? Got any colour recommendations? Also do you use them on your upper and lower lash lines as well as the water line? Let me know :)
