A little spot of shopping

Hi hi dears :)

I popped into town on Friday afternoon as the arrival of summer prompted the purchase of some new sandals :D Yay! I'd had my eye on some since seeing Jo's post a few days ago.

Luckily I tracked down said beautiful sandals in Evans - I nabbed the last pair wahey :D These beauties are £25 which I thought was pretty good. I had a birthday voucher to spend and I figured this was a good a thing as any to spend it on, so these cost me £4. Bargain :D

They're a great fit and so comfy :D

I also popped into Superdrug because I wanted to pick up some more MUA lippies. I picked up another Shade 7 so I have a back up, and then I got Shade 6:

Beauty bargains

Boots have a huge 3 for 2 mix and match offer across their make up and professional hair care brands until June 15th! There's also 1/3 off selected products in the Soap & Glory range - go and stock up :D

Superdrug have a 2 for £5 offer on Barry M nail polishes, 3 for 2 on selected GOSH products, 3 for 2 mix and match across their skin care ranges, 2 Maybelline products for £11, 3 for 2 on Revlon products, and 3 for 2 on the 2True range

I wandered into TJ Hughes on Friday and found a whole heap of high street make up brands at incredibly low prices - including Rimmel, Revlon and Sally Hansen. I also saw a huge stand of Stila products with prices from as little as £2.99. They also stock the much loved St. Moritz tanning mousses and sprays for £2.99! I also saw a gigantic stand of 20 litre bottles of Tigi shampoo and conditioners - no, I'm not joking!

Musical marvels

Thanks to Scott Mills, I've recently found, and fell in love with it has to be said, The Baseballs. Who are they you ask? The Baseballs are a German band that are putting a 50's twist on modern songs. They are seriously amazing!!!! Quite a few of us on Twitter are loving them. If you want to find out what all the fuss is about, you can check their album out on Spotify here.

However I urge you to watch this video of their amazing cover of Snow Patrol's Chasing Cars!!

Review: L'Oreal Elvive Smooth Silk Light Conditioning Smooth Spray

Hello cupcakes :)

Phew, what a mouthful that title was! I was in Morrisons the other day with a friend picking up some last minute things for her weekend away. She told me about this product and said it was great. One look at the price tag put me off though. Later on we were in Superdrug and I found this on a BOGOF offer. Win! So of course I picked two up. To see what I thought of this product, keep reading :)

Product

What L'Oreal say: Does your hair need a quick, convenient smoothing touch to calm flyaways and frizz, that instantly detangles hair, and is so lightweight you can use it every day without weighing hair down? The L'Oreal laboratories have developed new Elvive Smooth-Silk Light Conditioning Smooth Spray. A smoothing leave-in conditioner in a spray that's light and quick to use. The new Smooth-Silk Light formula, enriched with Silk Protein weightlessly smoothes your hair leaving it manageable. It protects from the effects of damp or humid weather, such as flyaways or frizz. Delivered in an ultra-fine spray, the formula effectively conditions the hair without weighing it down. Your hair is instantly detangled and manageable. It's protected thanks to its 48 hour anti-flyaway and anti-frizz action. Combing is easy! Your hair feels silky, full and flowing.

What I say: Wow what a mouthful. Lately, and for who knows what reason, my hair has been ridiculously static and fly away so when Lucy suggested this to me, I had to try it. My hair was driving me crazy. As soon as I got it home I cracked it out and used it. I love it. It smells gorgeous (like apples actually), and it tamed my hair perfectly. No more flyaways or frizz for me! I don't buy Elvive products as a rule because they always weigh my hair down. But not this one. It really is light, and using this every day is good for my hair. I bet it's thanking me. I've used it on freshly washed wet hair and it detangles instantly. Brilliant. I wouldn't say it's effects last 48 hours but it certainly does last all day. Perfect!

Application

What L'Oreal say: So light, can be used as a conditioning boost on damp hair after washing with shampoo and conditioner, or instead of regular conditioner depending on hair condition; or on dry hair with a light spray to tame hair between washes or on the go! No need to rinse. Can be used every day for daily silkiness.

What I say: I think I pretty much said what I thought of this above haha. It's easy to use, just remove the lid and spray. I give a good liberal spray on wet or dry hair. My hair looks smooth, sleek and shiny with no flyaways or frizz. Yay :D

Review: GOSH Velvet Touch Eye Liners

Hello petals :)

I mentioned a while back that I picked up a couple of these eye liners. I bought Black Ink and Golden Globe. To see what I thought of them, keep reading :)

Product

What GOSH say: Has a fantastic colour pigmentation and is 100% waterproof.

What I say: On first application I have found these to be highly pigmented. I've used Black Ink to line my upper lash line and it's brilliant. Great colour and stays put all day. However using it on the water line is a bit of a no-no. It doesn't stay put very long at all which is a shame. Contrast that with Golden Globe, which stays put all day on the water line. Odd huh? Maybe different colours have different staying power?

Application

What GOSH say: Extremely waterproof and durable. Fantastic colour pigmentation. Contains Vitamin E and Jojoba Oil. Contains no perfume.

What I say: As you can see from the swatches, the colours are great. Golden Globe looks far more vibrant than it is in reality though which is a shame. Golden Globe is definitely waterproof, whereas I wouldn't say Black Ink is as much. Although it does have great staying power on the upper lash line.

Price: £5
Size: 1.2g
