Review: Kryolan Ultra Fluid Foundation

Good morning lovelies

I've finally gotten around to reviewing my current foundation. Not gonna lie, it's going to be a bit of a product rave!

I picked this up at IMATS pretty much under strict instruction from my BBBFF* Leanne. I wasn't convinced I could ever love a foundation as much as she professed to do so, but I have to admit, my Leannypops was right :D

Product

Kryolan sayFor many skin types, Fluid Foundation has proved outstanding in providing a gentle, smooth and uniformly applied make-up. Ultra Fluid is distinguished by slightly enhanced covering quality, without loss of its transparent appearance. Ultra Fluid Foundation comes in a glass bottle with applicator. These foundations are available in a range of more than 48 shades.

I say: Leanne convinced me this was the best thing since, erm Twitter? Anyway, I took her word for it and snapped it up in the shade Alabaster (a PERFECT match for me) at IMATS. It's mainly used by MUAs for TV, movie and photography work as it gives great coverage without looking heavy or cakey. And it can be layered. Fact. Leanne told me and I thought I'd look like I'd slapped it on with a trowel but quite the opposite. The foundation blends seamlessly to leave you with a great canvas for your makeup and it feels and looks natural. Thank the make up Gods for Kryolan!

Application

Kryolan say: Fluid make up. Particularly appropriate for movie, TV, photography and close-up work.

I say: I really love that this comes with the tab applicator. You really cannot end up with too much product which is always useful. A little goes a long way with this foundation. I dab it on my forehead, cheeks and chin then blend out across my entire face and down to my neck, applying extra on any areas that I need to. My skin is anything but perfect but this covers pretty much everything (redness, uneven skin tone, minor blemishes - anything else is nothing a bit of Studio Fix Concealer can't fix), yet I can still see my freckles thanks to its transparency. As I said earlier, this foundation does not cake up. This means I get the coverage I need without looking like I've overdone the it. I really like that this isn't a heavy foundation either, it's buildable yet still feels weightless, almost like a second skin. One thing I will mention is that if you have oily or combination skin, you will need to set and touch up with powder if you prefer a matte look. Overall, as if you couldn't tell, I love this foundation. I purchased this at IMATS, on January 29th and I'm STILL not halfway through the bottle, and I've used it pretty much every day since. Amazing value for money! Compare this to if I was still using say, Maybelline SuperStay or Revlon ColorStay, I'd have had to have repurchased a bottle pretty much every month or so. Another reason for you to switch to Kryolan - it will save you money!
