Beautilicious Bargains?

Hiya :)

I was flicking through our new Avon brochure last night and came across a few interesting products. Some of them might be possible dupes for more expensive brands, and some totally new that I've not seen before.

New products

Avon SuperCurlacious Mascara

Currently on offer at £5, normal price is £8. Online it gives the shades available as being 'Black' and 'Brown', but in the brochure we had, they had 'Black Diamond' as well. I thought that'd be great for going out because it would give your lashes some added sparkle. Really wish I'd ordered it now :(

Avon Glimmersticks Diamonds Eye Liner

I've not seen this before, but I thought it looked pretty cool. A sparkly eyeliner! They used Twilight Sparkle on the model in the brochure and WOW, it looked amazing. It is priced at £6. Something else I'd wished I'd ordered.

Avon Nail Experts Pearl Shine

Priced at £6 normally, I ordered this on offer at £3. It claims to fortify nails for a healthy, buffed look without polish. I've always wanted naturally shiny nails, and I found using a buffer doesn't always do the whole nail. Over the upcoming 4 week Easter vacation at the end of the month, I'm planning on having a 4 week hiatus from using nail polish. Sorry girls, that means no more nail posts for a while! I use it way too much and have found that, even with an anti-staining base coat, my nails have gone an odd shade of pink. So I figured 4 weeks off the old nail polish will give them time to breathe, and this Pearl Shine formula should give them some natural shine. And it may be a teeny coincidence that when the 4 week hiatus is over, my student loan comes in to my bank and it might possibly be used for a US polish haul ;P

Avon Nail Experts Quick Dry Oil

Priced at £5, the quick dry oil claims to dry your nails in a flash (60 seconds), prevent smudging, and will be completely hard in 4 minutes, giving a shine that lasts for 10 days. I thought this might be a dupe for the more expensive counterparts, e.g. Seche Vite and Sally Hansen Teflon Tuff Quick Dry Top Coat? Any thoughts? Is it worth ordering?

Avon Nail Experts Quick Dry Spray

A product that instantly got my attention when I checked the Avon UK website, was the quick dry spray. It claims to spray nails dry in a flash. This is a topcoat in a spray. Currently, there is one customer review, and the customer in question says that the spray freezes nails dry on contact. Brilliant?! I might get order it in the future. It's currently priced at £6.

What do you think? Have you seen or tried any of these?

  1. Ooh, I love that sparkly eyeliner. So pretty. Want to get me one of those but we don't get an Avon book around here. Grr!

Looking forward to reviews on the quick dry oil and spray. Anything that makes me nails dry quicker is always good.

I just nominated you for an award! x

I didn't purchase either of the quick dry products but I might be tempted next time the brochure comes round.

  5. Oh I didn't realise it was like a nail polish. So does it need to be removed regularly with nail polish remover? Kind of defeats the point in my eyes? x
