Review: L'Oreal Matte Morphose Foundation

Hiya

I picked up the latest copy of Glamour magazine the other day, and inside it was an advert and a sample of L'Oreal's newest foundation, Matte Morphose, in 140 Creamy Natural. I'd not heard much about it previously, and was a tad sceptical with it being a mousse formula (remember the horrors of Maybelline's mousse foundation?) but I was more than happy to try it out. To see what I thought, read on :)

Has a handy inner lid

What L'Oreal say: Metamorphose your makeup! Pores appear virtually erased, the appearance of fine lines are reduced and skin feels peachy soft. Up to 12 hour matte complexion, luminous finish. Metamorphose your skin for a matte radiant complexion.

What I say: I have to say I was suitably impressed with this foundation. I'll be honest, I've never made or eaten a soufflé so I don't have a clue about this soufflé sensation thing. But I'd imagine Gordon Ramsay would be suitably impressed. The texture of the foundation is lovely, and don't worry, it's nothing like Maybelline's dodgy attempt at a mousse foundation. (Remember how it crumbled?) The coverage I got with Matte Morphose is brilliant. Whilst I wouldn't say that the pores are erased, I'd say their appearance is reduced considerably. The odd fine line that I had vanished, blemishes were pretty much covered, and my under eye dark circles vanished. My skin was left feeling really soft and smooth. I don't have a peach to compare it to, I'm afraid ;P I got a great matte finish even having used my facial moisturiser beforehand. I don't quite see why L'Oreal chose to use the word luminous. Who wants a luminous face? Like a lightbulb? No thanks. Radiant was the better word for it, and radiant I feel my skin was. It also comes in a pot. At blooming last L'Oreal! A huge thumbs up from me! It's tempted me to purchase this when my current Max Factor foundation runs out. That's amazing considering I'm not a fan of any of the L'Oreal foundations currently available. Matte Morphose is available in 6 shades. To find out more, clickety click here.

Application

What L'Oreal say: Its feather-light soufflé texture extends seamlessly across the skin for a transformation you can see and feel

What I say: Oh most definitely agreed!! Matte Morphose has a fabulously light, soft and smooth texture that really does transform your skin. I applied this with my fingers, and found that a little went a long way. It gave a great medium coverage, without making your face feel overly made up, and for once, matched my skin tone. Hallelujah L'Oreal! It stayed in place for the entire 12 hours, keeping my face matte, but with a radiant glow. Love, love, love this foundation!! Pleasantly surprised :)

  4. The lightest shade is Rose Ivory. I don't know whether that's a current shade in their other foundation collections but it might give you a rough idea of the shade :) x
