Tuesday Treats +

Morning all :D

I popped my proverbial baker's hat on yesterday, donned an apron and whipped up a quick batch of cupcakes!

Recipes
(Borrowed from the incredibly talented Milly!!)

Cupcakes
This is for 12 cupcakes:
4oz Caster Sugar
4oz Butter
WHIZZ*
2 Large Eggs
6oz Self Raising Flour
Pinch of salt
Drop of Vanilla Extract
WHIZZ
Add to some suitably pretty cupcake cases
Put them in the oven at 180 degrees Celsius for 15-18 minutes

*WHIZZ of course means mix with a hand held electric whisk :D

Frosting
This recipe is enough to ice 12 cupcakes
8oz Icing Sugar
4oz Unsalted Butter
WHIZZ
1 Tablespoon of Cocoa Powder
WHIZZ

After a disastrous attempt at making a home made piping bag, only to find it all came undone second cupcake in (note to self: go to Lakeland!), I decided to plop the frosting on the cakes, then set about prettying it up with a fork then adorning said frosting with fairy dust** and stars. Et voila!

Decorations
**Morrisons Pink Glitter Sugar
Morrisons White Chocolate Stars
Morrisons Animal Print Cupcake Cases

I've decided I'm going to try my hand at flavoured cupcakes when I've been shopping. Who knows what concoctions I may come up with! I also fancy trying my hand at making red velvet cupcakes. Watch this space!

  8. They look really yummy!
I highly recommend Lakeland's Get A Grip piping bags for pretty swirly icing, you just need a star shaped nozzle - they've never let me down!
