Review: e.l.f. Studio Powder Brush

Hello poppets :)

Lots of ladies in the blogging community raved to me about how good this brush was for applying liquid foundation, so I decided to order one to see what all the fuss was about. Would it really tempt me away from my GOSH Duo Fibre? Well yes it did. If only I'd heard about this sooner, I would have saved myself a small fortune! Ah well, we live and learn!

Product

e.l.f. sayThis new anti bacterial, synthetic haired Taklon brush is softer and more absorbent and can be used with wet or dry products. Be a professional makeup artist and create a flawless look with this e.l.f. studio brush! Creates a professional sculpted look. Full coverage color. Use for powder or blush for perfect contouring.

I say: As everyone had recommended this brush for liquid foundation application, this is what I've used it for. I've found that this brush absorbs far less product than my previous brush thankfully. It also gives me a much more flawless finish and I can really buff my foundation into my skin. I've also found that it's useful for buffing out cream blush.

Application

e.l.f. sayDip the brush into powder and then tap off excess. Start near the hairline and work inward as to not over apply color.

I say: As I've already mentioned, I don't use this brush for powder. I use it for liquid foundation. I usually put a bit of foundation on the back of my hand, dip the brush in then buff the product on to my face. I've found that I use far less foundation with this brush than I did with my previous brush. I also love that it comes with a brush guard to keep the brush in shape. I really recommend it. If you don't own this brush already, what are you waiting for? Go over to the e.l.f. website and order one immediately before they sell out ;)

  6. This is the brush I have ended up using most - I use mineral foundation and this one is great for it. It's also rather good with liquid foundation, I've tried once. But I think the e.l.f. stipple brush does a nicer job with liquids. Only con of the stipple brush - it's diameter is so small it'll last forever to put on the makeup.

  7. LiisK - It's great isn't it! I bought this specifically for liquid foundation after a tonne of recommendations from other bloggers. It's also great for applying cream blush. I haven't tried the e.l.f. stipple brush but I'm not tempted to try it if it's small xxx
