Day Thirteen: A Fictional Book

Hi kids :)

Day 13 of the 30 Days tag is all about fictional books. Well, one in particular really. Most of my favourite books are in boxes lurking somewhere around my house. And I haven't finished reading anyyyy of the ones that I have out at the mo. I know, naughty me. But now I've finished uni and got sweet f.a. to do, I thought I'd make a start on them.

The book I'm reading currently is entitled 'I heart New York' by Lindsey Kelk, and came with this month's Glamour magazine.

I didn't think it was going to be all that great, but I was hooked by the end of the first chapter. Seriously good stuff. I'm a sucker for chick lit haha!

The blurb:

'Fleeing her cheating boyfriend and clutching little more than a crumpled bridesmaid dress, a pair of Louboutins and her passport, Angela jumps on a plane - destination NYC.

Holed up in a cute hotel room, Angela gets a New York makeover from her NBF Jenny and a whirlwind tour of the city that never sleeps. Before she knows it, Angela is dating two sexy guys. And best of all, she gets to write about it in her new blog (Carrie Bradshaw eat your heart out). But it's one thing telling readers about your romantic dilemmas, it's another figuring them out for yourself...

Angela has fallen head over heels for the big apple, but does she heart New York more than home?'

I started reading this book yesterday afternoon and I'm over a quarter of the way through it (at the time of writing this anyway; I will most likely get into bed and read a few more chapters before going to sleep). If you've picked up or are going to pick up this month's Glamour (in stores now) I recommend reading this if you're after a bit of escapism or a quick holiday read :)

I get ridiculously into chick lit pretty quickly. If only I was so inclined to do so with Dickens or some other traditional author. One day perhaps.

  1. We just experience some periods in which our tastes simply alter a little, There is nothing wrong in chick lit as long as you are happy reading it. The times for Dickens, etc, will come!
