Review: GOSH Velvet Touch Foundation Primer

Hi petals :)

I've been umming and ahhing over whether to get this for ages now. I thought I had my fail safe primer in the form of Avon's Magix Face Perfector, but I feel that was a premature conclusion now! I saw this on Yinka's blog sale ages ago for £9 so I decided to bite the bullet and get it. I've used it a few times now so I thought I'd share my thoughts on it. One thing I will say - do not use this if you're going to apply L'Oreal Matte Morphose foundation. I'm afraid this little partnership doesn't work. Or at least I found it didn't. The foundation hated the primer :(

What GOSH say: GOSH Velvet Touch Foundation Primer is the perfect base for all kinds of make-up. It fills in fine lines and deep pores in the skin, creating a uniform, matte and silky soft surface, enabling the easy and smooth application of foundation. The formula is perfume and preservative free.

What I say: I think I love it. Really. I know I said this about the Avon primer I reviewed here, but this is a lot better. For starters, I've found that I use less of this product. A little goes a long way. One and a half pumps amply covered my entire face. My skin was left feeling so soft and silky afterwards. I then applied Revlon Colorstay foundation which went on really easily. The thing that amazed me was that my skin stayed matte and perfect all day. And when I say all day, we're talking 15 hours. Amazing right?

Application

What GOSH say: The primer can be used after daily moisturiser or on clean skin.

What I say: I tend to apply this on clean skin unless I've neglected to moisturise the night before. Either way this works on either base. It's non sticky, non greasy, and applies effortlessly well. I really wouldn't be without this primer now that I've tried it. The packaging is pretty nifty too, as the pump applicator enables you to control how much product you use.

I have to say, this is my favourite primer that I've tried so far. I am tempted to try the e.l.f. one. And I've just seen that MeMeMe do one for £6.99. Has anybody got any other primer recommendations? Preferably under £10 because I'm a proper Scrooge like that haha ;P
