Review: Soap & Glory The Greatest Scrub Of All

Hiya

As I suspect my last facial scrub was the reason by skin decided to rebel, I decided to try this. I picked it up in Boots while there was another promotion on Soap & Glory (up to £3 off selected products). To see what I thought, read on :)

What Soap & Glory sayIt’s a scrub, formulated to leave even the most exhausted face looking FRESH. With a super fresh chamomile and mint scent. We’re pretty sure this is self-explanatory. But go ahead and write to us if we are wrong. The Greatest Scrub Of All™ has a strategic blend of super-gentle silicami particles, and salicylic acid loaded scrub beads, the more you scrub, the more it smoothes. Like DIY microdermabrasion. Suitable for all skin types – if you adjust the frequency according to whether you are sensitive, dry, normal or oily.

What’s inside that counts?
- Superfine Ground Silicami: that rolls across the skin to lift off dead cells without scratching
- Salicylic Acid: that activate when you start scrubbing, for a double boost of smooth.

What I say: When I used this for the first time, for some reason I was expecting that beautifully fragrant signature Soap & Glory scent. Erm, wrong. I was trying to work out what the smell was. It smelled like a combination of minty toothpaste and something I couldn't quite put my finger on. Of course, it's chamomile. Righto. It smells like stale toothpaste. Sorry S&G, not so keen on that scent. But whatever floats your boat! But on the practicality side, I guess you don't want perfumed products on your face right? So you are forgiven ;P This scrub contains smooth-boosting spheres that pop open when you press them. They're bright yellow you really can't miss them. My skin felt great afterwards, clean, smooth, soft and not at all dry. Thumbs up.

Application

What Soap & Glory sayApply a pea-sized amount onto damp skin and smooth around the face, paying particular attention to blackheads, blocked pores, flaky foreheads and oily chins. Rinse well, pat dry and then apply moisturiser. Use 2-4 times/week for oily skin – less often for dry/sensitive types.

What I say: I use my scrublet from L'Oreal's Perfect Clean to apply this to my face to begin with, then I smooth it around my face with my fingers. It feels nice and gritty, like it really is doing something to my skin. After rinsing and drying, my skin feels smooth, and it got rid of the dry patches that appeared after my skin's reaction to other products. Win :)
